About This Project
Rose Muhemo, the founder and caregiver at Blessed Kids Rescue Centre was a victim of child negligence at a very tender age. She was neglected due to cultural bias and had to live with her aunt. After working on construction sites in the rural area of Kenya, she moved to Nairobi, where she used to help as a cook and care taker in a children's home.
In 2016 she started her own children's rescue center in the heart of Zimmerman, the outskirts of Nairobi. In the small apartment was almost no space for the 16 children. But the family grew and moved to a 3 bedroom house. After being affected by a terrible flooding in March 2024, where the Blessed kids family lost almost all their possessions, they moved to a small compound with 4 main houses. The number of kids has grown in the meantime to 45.
